Ways to Re-purpose Almost Dead Flowers

When you buy flowers online, you’re sure to be pleased with their vibrant look while they’re fresh, but what do you do when they start wilting and dying? If you’re like most people, your instinct is to simply throw them out and opt for some new, fresher bouquets. However, just because your flowers are a bit wilted doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s time for them to go to the trash. There are actually plenty of innovative and creative ways that you can re-purpose almost dead flowers after you received them from an online flower delivery.
Frame Them
One of the most artistic ways to re-purpose wilted flowers is to simply frame them and then hang them on the wall where they can be used as decorations. Not only is this an economic way to decorate your home, but it’ll also give your home customisation and make it so that you can enjoy the flowers you had to sent to you forever. This is especially beneficial if the flowers were a gift from a loved one.
Transform Them Into Potpourri
Potpourri is a great way to ensure that your home always smells lovely, but instead of buying pre made potpourri from the store, transform your old flowers into potpourri. Simply hang your flowers up and allow them to dry out completely, and then crumble them into a decorative basket or glass jar to enjoy their fragrance for weeks to come. When their natural fragrance eventually fades, you can revamp the fragrance using a variety of potpourri recipes or by simply purchasing some potpourri fragrance at a store.
Turn Them Into Bookmarks
You can also use wilted flowers that you ordered from an online florist as bookmarks. Although roses are most popularly used for this, you can use any type of flowers that you wish. Just allow the blossoms to dry out completely, and then press them down by placing them between the pages of a heavy book.
Use Them as Fresheners
Many varieties of flowers, such as roses, retain their scent for weeks long after they are wilted and even dead. Instead of placing dryer sheets and other common types of fresheners in the drawers of your dressers and chests, use the petals from dead flowers instead. Wrap the petals in something like an old sock and then fold it so that the petals will stay contained and won’t fall out, and then place the package in your drawers, your car or anywhere else that needs a bit of freshening up to give the area a nice floral scent.
Make Bath Products Out of Them
Instead of purchasing bath bombs, salts, bubbles and more that have floral fragrances, make your own bath bombs out of your old flower bouquets. There’s many bath bomb, salt, bubbles and other recipes you can find online. The more dried flowers petals you add to the recipes, the stronger your bath scents will be.
Your online delivery of flowers shouldn’t go to waste just because the flowers have lost their freshness. As you can see, there are still a ton of things you can do with wilted and almost dead flowers to re purpose them and make the flowers you received from an online florist last longer.
