The Process of Flower Export

Process of Flower Export
Floral Industry is one of the major industries in many developed and developing countries across the World. Floriculture dates back to the late 1800’s and it all began in England where flowers were grown in large numbers in vast various estates. Coming to the present, it is a more dynamic, multinational and fast paced industry that has achieved massive growth rates in the past few decades. From USD 3 Billion in the late 50-60’s to over USD 100 Billion by the end of the 1990’s.
What constitutes a floral industry are the source being the growers, the distribution channel mainly the wholesales and the final delivery of flower bouquets being the retailers. There has been a major move to get rid of the middleman to speed up and make cost efficient transfer of flowers from growers to retailers and thereby reducing costs up to a considerable amount.
Transportation of flowers are sent in cardboard boxes. These are flat rectangular boxes and can accommodate large amounts of flowers and can be easily fitted in smaller aircraft and other transportation modes. Some flowers cannot stay without water for such longer periods of time and for these flowers such as orchids, these are attached with tubes that contain enough water at the base of the stem to last the journey so that it reaches the final destination fresh and sturdy. Some flowers that require even more water, are transported in buckets of water to keep the freshness quality throughout the journey. Flowers are either transported via air directly to wholesalers or retailers, or they are sold at nurseries or directly to consumers via mail order by selling them online. Flowers are also graded and sent out before reaching the final retailer.
The epicenter of flower production and the majority of flower consumption has been Japan, Western Europe, America. Major consumer markets consist of United States, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Japan and Switzerland. Netherlands continues to be the major center of production of the floral market and many varieties of flowers are supplied online to international countries. Recent figures show statistics as over 10 billion blooms grown by Dutch growers. Sending flowers hasn’t been easier with flowers coming in across the World practically on a daily basis. May Flower gets imported flowers at its store many times and most elite customers order online delivery of such flowers often in Mumbai and other cities in India.
Due to lower labor and better climate and soil conditions, there has been a shift of flower industry from Netherlands. Netherlands has been more into trading of flowers and a shift of focus has been done from growing. New centers of flower production are Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Kenya and not surprisingly India. India has major exports of roses and you will be surprised at the amount of roses and quality of roses that are exported from India. Many countries import roses from India which are almost north of 4ft tall with blooms that are as big as a tomato. Indian growers are using technology and newer marketing methods to grow, preserve and transport from green houses to final destinations in cold storage containers. May Flower gets these roses often which are exclusive to May Flower for their online customers who buy and send flowers across Mumbai very often and other cities as well.

Silk Flowers for Monograms

Using Silk Flowers for Monograms

Flowers are timeless gifts, which is part of why they are one of the most popular types of gifts to give. In today’s modern world where almost everything can be conducted online, it’s not uncommon for people to buy flowers online from an online florist and have them delivered to their recipients. However, you don’t only have to settle for having flowers sent to other people. You can, in fact, order flowers online and have them sent to you to use in innovative ways to decorate your home.
If you plan on using flowers to decorate your home, though, you probably want to invest in silk ones rather than traditional ones that can wilt, wither and die. Silk flowers have the appearance of real flowers, but they don’t come with all the upkeep that real ones do and, most advantageously, they’ll last forever.
Nowadays, monograms are among the most popular types of personalized decorations to place throughout your home. People place surname monograms on their walls, the doors of their homes and elsewhere to serve as decorations, but instead of settling for a traditional wooden monogram, you can create your monogram from silk flowers. Simply schedule an online flower delivery of silk flowers, and then use those flowers to create a silk flower monogram by following the following steps.

Steps for creating a Silk flower Monogram

First, acquire a cardboard letter that corresponds with your surname, first name or whatever else you want to create a monogram for. You can purchase these at virtually any craft store. Next, you’ll need to cut out the front of the letter to make them hollow. You can cut the fronts of the letters off with whatever tool you choose, but an Exact-O knife provides you with more precision than some other tools.
Then, prepare the hollowed out cardboard letter for the silk flowers by inserting some flower foam into the letter. Cut the flower foam to fit inside the letter, and then glue the foam inside the letter with a hot glue gun. Now you’re ready to create your silk flower monogram in the design pattern that you desire.
You might want to play around with your silk flowers first to determine how you want them to be arranged to form your letter before sticking them into the foam. Additionally, trim the stems of the silk flowers with a pair of wire cutters before hand, making sure you cut them at an appropriate length to stick within the flower foam so that the flowers will lay flush against the foam. When you’re ready, insert the silk flowers into the foam in the arranged design that you wish. You can use a hot glue gun to secure any loose petals or leaves that are sticking up from the foam. When you’re finished, you’ll be able to hang your silk flower monogram wherever you want it.
That’s how easy it is to create your own silk flower monogram after placing your online flowers delivery order of silk flowers online. No matter whether you want to have your silk flowers delivered to the U.S., UK or India, May Flower offers you plenty of lovely ones to choose from.

Long Lasting Flower Varieties

Best Bouquet Flowers: Long-Lasting Varieties

No matter whether you plan on sending a bouquet of flowers to someone else or you’re ordering them for yourself, you likely want your bouquets to last for a little while after you order them. While no bouquets will last forever, there are certain varieties of flowers that have a longer life span after they are cut, and these are among the best types of flowers to select in your bouquets when you place an online flower delivery.
Lilies
Flower bouquets that have lilies in them are great when you want to send online flowers to someone and have the flowers last for more than a couple of days. Lilies tend to have long stems that make them ideal for bouquets, and once they are cut, they can usually survive in a vase for three weeks or longer when they’re properly cared for. There are numerous types of lilies to choose from as well, such as Peruvian lilies, Easter lilies, Asiatic lilies, Oriental lilies and so on.
Dahlias
Dahlias are also perfect for bouquets because not only do these types of flowers have a long bloom time, but they have strong stems that can withstand being bound into a bouquet. Plus, these types of flowers are available in numerous sizes and colors of blooms, so they can used in virtually any type of bouquet. They are striking and instantly demand attention, especially when they’re sticking up out of a vase and are set on display where they can last for a couple of weeks.
Carnations
Carnations are among the most popular types of flowers to get in bouquets, which is fortunate since they tend to have a relatively long life span after they are cut. These flowers can usually last anywhere from two to three weeks in vase after they’ve been cut, sometimes longer if they are carefully cared for. Because carnations have a low mineral content, however, you should only place them in distilled water. Carnations come in many colors as well and an online florist can mix them with other flowers to create a truly unique-looking bouquet.
Daisies
Daises are some of the most traditional types of flowers found in flower bouquets, so if you want to go the timeless route, you might want to buy flowers online that have daisies in them. Plus, daisies are one of the hardier varieties of flowers, and they can last two weeks or longer when put in a vase. They have firm, long stems that make the ideal for being put in a vase. Daises come in a variety of vibrant colors too, so there’s no end to the types of bouquets that can be constructed with them.
Amaranth
Amaranth are extremely great for bouquets since their drooping flowers tassels can be tucked into the sides of bouquets and allowed to spill over the edges of vases. They serve as the perfect backdrop for other flowers and add a nice, whimsical touch to any flower arrangement. When youorder flowers online that have amaranth in them, your bouquets will have an ornamental quality that’s unsurpassed. Moreover, amaranth have hearty stems that can last more than two weeks in a vase.
Anthuriums
Anthuriums are another option for long-lasting flowers since they can last approximately a week when they’re cut as stems rather than as single blooms. They are both cheery and exotic, and they can even be used alongside Annie Black orchids to create a unique bouquet that will last a long time.

Order flowers online

If you’ve ever wanted to order flowers online, but have been skeptical of doing so because you weren’t sure how long they would last, now you can rest easy knowing that there are long-lasting varieties you can invest in.

Low Maintenance Flower Arrangements

Low-Maintenance Flower Arrangements

Sending flowers to a friend, family member, coworker or other recipient is a great way to show that you care, and it’s an ideal solution when you don’t know what to give the recipient. When you’re getting ready to schedule an online delivery of flowers, though, you might be despairing over what type of flowers you should send your recipient. If the recipient is a busy stay-at-home-mom or dad or a traveling business professional, then he or she might not have sufficient time to tend to flowers. Additionally, some people might love plants and flower arrangements, but they simply don’t have a green thumb. There’s no need to worry, though, because May Flower is an online florist that allows you to select from dozens of low-maintenance flower arrangements so even those people who don’t have the time, knowledge or energy to care for and maintain their flowers can enjoy beautiful arrangements without having to put much work into preserving them.
Silk Flowers
Silk flowers are perhaps the most low-maintenance types of flowers that you can send since they are made out of silk. Because they aren’t real flowers, they don’t require any maintenance at all, and they’ll keep their beautiful look forever. At most, the only bit of maintenance that you’ll have to do with silk flowers is to occasionally dust off the flowers when they begin to accumulate a bit of dust, dirt and other debris. Unlike traditional artificial flowers, silk flowers have the feel and appearance of real flowers, but you won’t have to deal with any hassle since they require no watering and will never wilt or die. Buy flowers online made out of silk when you want to make sure that you give the recipient a floral arrangement that he or she can enjoy for years to come.
Flower Arrangements in Vases
At May Flower, we offer you the option to send flowers online that have vases included with them. Select via a variety of beautiful flower arrangements that feature low-maintenance flowers like orchids, chrysanthemums, carnations and anthuriums and come in vases. Although flower arrangements and bouquets must be watered daily, if you place them in a vase, then the water in the vase will feed the plants the water that they need for a couple of days. Therefore, when you choose to send flower arrangements in vases, you can make it so that the recipient only has to change out the water in the vase every two or three days to provide your flowers with fresh water. Alternatively, the water can be changed when the blooms take in all the water and the vase requires more in it in order to keep the stems sufficiently covered with water. Caring for flower arrangements in vases is much less maintenance than caring for flowers planted in the ground or within pots of soil.
Regardless of whether you want to send birthday flowers online or schedule online flower delivery for other special occasions using easy-to-care-for flowers, May Flower is an online florist that has beautiful arrangements that are low maintenance.
